Dear Simon,

I am still absolutely happy with minimserver. minimserver 2 provides almost everything it need to handle my extensive classical music collection. However, I would like to come up with a new feature request, hopefully not too difficult to implement.

I would be happy to have an tagOption "lastName" in addition to "reverseName" allowing me to get the last name part of name formatted as "lastname, firstname" as display or index value. My current solution is to keep both "lastname, firstname" and "lastname" in different tags. An lastName option would allow me to work with just one tag for any person names.

Please provide some examples of how your proposed "lastName" option would work and how you would use it (in addition to "reverseName") with some specific tag values.

In case of using composer name as part of a a displayFormat title.displayFormat={$composer^^: $work$title^^^ - } composer name is put at the beginning of a title display. With full composer names put at the beginnt the title display often becomes extremely long. tagOption composer.lastName.display would shorten the composer name display by omitting (often long) first names and therefore shorten the title display as well. Further potential usages ist artist.lastName.display to shorten artist display listings which may become long e.g. in case of opera recordings.

The lastName option is now available in MinimServer update 260.
