Thanks for sharing this. There is something on the MinimStreamer website describing this but it is rather out of date. I am working on improving this description.

Hi Simon.
Just a thought - is it worth changing the title of this post to "BBC radio streams with Synology DSM 6.2.4 - Fix" so the thread title is more descriptive and helpful to others?
Just a thought - the current thread title is not that helpful.
Thanks, Steve
That would be fine. As you are the creator of the thread, you should be able to edit the thread title.
After pulling my hair out that my newly purchased Yamaha streaming amp is no longer able to receive the BBC Radio streams out of the box, I've today updated my old QNAP NAS to run the latest version of MinimServer and MinimStreamer. I followed the above instructions and installed a new FFmpeg build from the website you suggest. I've put this in what I think is the correct folder of my NAS, namely MinimServer/opt/bin
No luck so far.
My Yamaha Musiccast App can see the BBC Radio streams and my Cambridge Audio streamer will play them fine (but that can play them "natively" anyway). The Yamaha says "Unable to play"
I'm assuming that the "stream.converter" dialogue is yet to have the right bit of text added. I've tried /opt/ffmpeg/ffmpeg but no luck yet. Could you possibly help please?
As described in
post #38, you need to add aac:wav to the stream.transcode property to make the Yamaha player happy.
The ffmpeg binary should be in MinimServer/opt/bin and the stream.converter property should be set to opt/bin/ffmpeg (the default value if the ffmpeg binary is in the correct location).
The "above instructions" were for Synology, not QNAP. Where did you find the ffmpeg binary that you installed?

Thank you for replying. I got the FFmpeg binary from
https://www.johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/
When I set stream.converter to opt/bin/ffmpeg I get the error "Converter not installed; correct highlighted value and retry" Would that indicate I've downloaded the wrong binary? (The QNAP NAS is an old TS-419P II so not sure which of the versions I need)
If your TS-419P II is on the latest firmware for this model (QTS 4.3.3), the preinstalled version of ffmpeg should do what you need for playing BBC radio streams. To use this version, remove your downloaded ffmpeg from MinimServer/opt/bin and stop and restart MinimServer. After doing this, you should see just 'ffmpeg' in the stream.converter property.
With this setting for stream.converter and aac:wav in stream.transcode, the BBC radio streams should play on the Yamaha.

Thanks again for replying. I've done as you suggest but sadly no luck. Firmware is QTS 4.3.3.2211
MinimServer 2.2
MinimStreamer 2.0.11 with streams.transcode set to aac:wav and stream.converter set to ffmpeg (with the previously downloaded version of ffmpeg in the opt/bin subfolder now deleted
I'm still getting "unable to play" on both my Yamaha R-N2000A and RX-A3080
What am I doing wrong?
I've stopped and restarted MinimServer and for good measure restarted the NAS but to no avail...
Please post your .m3u file containing the BBC stream definitions.

Attached as requested. It's in a folder called BBC Radio which I've included in the contentDir in Server Properties
