I downloaded Minimserver yesterday evening. Was the updated software live then?
How can I tell which version I am running with no way to interact with the software available?

If MinimServer is running, you can open the Minimserver configuration web page by entering the following into the address bar of a web browser:
http://x.x.x.x:9790
where x.x.x.x is the IP address of your Fedora machine. You might need to click through the License and Welcome pages to get to the configuration/status page. At the top of this page you will see the MinimServer update level.

Ok, thank you for that. I am using Minimserver 2.2 update 253

Thanks for confirming this.
To see the tray icon you need a desktop that uses X11, not Wayland. Are you using GNOME Shell (X11) or KDE (Wayland) as your desktop (or something else)?

I am using Wayland on Vanilla Gnome.
So, now that I know I can get to the web interface, I am able to set the directory where my music is. So I do have basic functionality. The only real issue is no icon.

MinimServer and MinimWatch are unable to show a tray icon on Wayland because this is not currently supported by Java. The Java developers have told me that they plan to add this support in the future but there is no time estimate for when this might happen.
You should be able to do everything you need from the web interface: changing property settings, viewing MinimServer status, rescanning your library and installing updates. The tray icon provides a better user experience but MinimServer is usable without it .

Thanks for that. It is indeed functional and that is all I need from it. I can work with this until such time as JAVA and Wayland work together.

I don't know what changed, but when I restarted, the Minimserver icon appeared in the menu bar right where it should and is functioning properly.

Thanks for letting me know about this. Is this still using Wayland? If so, have you updated Java?
