Hi

I'm trying to install and set-up Minim.

I have installed Minim Streamer

What do I do next?

In Synology File Station, I can only see three folders; appData, etc, opt. I can't see any albums or anything.

I want to stream music to a Cambridge N851.

Thanks
It sounds like you have specified the MinimServer shared folder as your content directory. The content directory should be set to the shared folder containing your music library. After making this change, you need to do a MinimServer rescan.
Thanks for a quick reply.

The content directory is:-
Your selected content directory is /volume1/music

I've started a rescan so I'll see what happens.

Thanks again

I'm not sure what I should see and where.

This is where I have added the content directory using the music library link.
I didn't understand "This is where" in your last post. Did you intend to add a screenshot?

Now that the rescan has completed, your MinimServer library should be visible to UPnP control points. MinimServer is a UPnP server (see this page) and doesn't have a user interface for browsing and playing music. What do you use at present to browse your library and play music?
Thanks for getting back.

Yes, I did mean to have an image. In fact, I included a link to the image.

Thanks for the page link. I'll read and digest.

As for playing music, I have been using a Synology NAS via a Cambridge 851N streamer. However, there are multiple issues between the NAS and 851N.

The Cambridge people said to try Minim to see if that helps.
Thanks for this. You should be able to see MinimServer as a UPnP music library in the Cambridge Audio app (Stream Magic or Cambridge Connect) that you are using to browse and play music on the 851N.

Ahh I see. Thanks.

When Cambridge fix the issue at their end I'll have a look for Minim.
You've shed light on a confused mind.

Thanks

What issues are you experiencing with your 851N?
My guess is that, unless you have hardware problems, you will be enjoining your music pretty much sooner by installing MinimServer rather than waiting for Cambridge Audio customers service.
Lots of Cambridge Audio/ MinimServer users on this forum so it must be possible to get things working.

Ahh great, things are getting better - thanks for that.

At the moment, the 851N doesn't even accept the network PW that has worked for the last four years! The firmware is up-to-date, the network is working for everything else. I'll see what they say re the network PW on Monday then come back here if they can't fix it.

Thanks for that - very reassuring.

Cheers
