It would be really helpful if someone (a really nice person) prepared a list of Index Tags that people could copy as required.

I'd happily let you have mine, but I am not sure what use it would be to you. What is included in indexTags depends (among other things) on
  • which tags you want to browse on;
  • which tags you are populating (or intend to populate) in your music library;
  • the order you wish to see in the MinimServer top level menu;
  • how you want the menu items to appear.
You also may need to consider whether there are tags that need to be referenced but not indexed; these tags need to be listed in itemTags.

You can see from this that advice could easily become (or we could provide you with lists that are) more complicated than you actually need for your purposes. It would therefore be helpful if you could explain what you would like to do, so that we can give you an answer that is relevant to your needs.

Basically, i want to be able to show recently added items to my library and as a layman cant work out the script for this.
MinimServer doesn't support this at the present time. Many people have requested this and it is very high on my to-do list.

Do your audio files contain a tag that contains a date added or similar value? If so, an index can be simply created.

If a tag is present and let's assume it's called Date, you simply need to add Date to the indexTags property.
In theory (according to what it says on the web about new Features) it is very simple to see the recently added items. But I can't find how to do it ... SO IT'S NOT THAT EASY !!!

Other new features that many MinimServer users have requested will be implemented in MinimServer 2. These include a simple way to find albums that have been added recently to your library, improvements to rescanning and much more.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks!

Hmm, it's in the interpretation.

It's a future feature, I.e. "will be" as opposed to "is".

I hesitate to mention it, but you could look at this forum thread.
Hi Alandbush!
Interesting observation. I think the right thing to do would be to add the new features and release a new (paid) version with these implementations and not say that they will be implemented.
Sounds like a sales pitch (Marketing).
I had already seen your forum thread but it seems a bit complicated to me.
I usually use iTunes on my computer with the music library on the NAS. And I use Minim Server on the NAS with the same music library to be able to access from any control point and send the music to my Hi-Fi media renderer. The advantage that I find in MinimServer is that it respects the structure of the music and the album art that I have in iTunes.

If this appeared on a glossy website about a new product with aspirations to evolve then I would agree.

In this case, I think it more an indication of near future expectation. Of course, time will tell. Big Grin
I have added the words "Future Enhancements" to this paragraph to avoid any possible msunderstanding.
