I am sure Simon will not mind my posting this - if he does, sorry, it was well intentioned.
But if you also use or are considering using Twonky, do have a look at this Linn forum thread:

Briain - old friend and stalwart -has been looking onto this and concludes that you cannot switch the latest Twonky incarnations on unless an active internet connection is present.
This is ghastly! Also means that big brother could shut your hifi down at any time.
