Hi,
playing even more with Minimservers features I am wondering whether there is a way to filter the last albums added to the library?
The date tag refers to the release date of the album, I assume. I haven't found a kind of timestamp tag, that would allow to do so.
Any ideas?

This feature has been requested on several occasions, and is on Simon's (long) 'to do' list. See, for example,
this thread.

Hi David,
I see.
Just found out that Lumin has this feature already implemented. I think they are building up their own db on the device and use the 'last modied date'.
Amazing how complex this stuff is. The more I dig into it the more to discover

Yes, and that, for me, is the no-no. As I see it, the server has the power to do the processing (without clogging up lots of scarce phone or tablet memory with loads of cache data), and the position in the complete system to standardise the user browsing experience so that we don't have to do mental gymnastics every time we use a different control point. But persuading people who write software for terminals (which is what control points, essentially, are) not to meddle with things that need to be done server-side is, it seems, a hard thing to do.

Quite so, though I prefer to think of it as lots of individually simple things all mixed up together ...

The problem with "last modified" for me is that I occasionally discover an incorrect tag, or a better cover image or something on an old album. When I make changes to tags, these albums will then show up as recently added with Lumin. I find it easier to add a year-month indicator in the Comment field and then have a view in Minimserver to show by this tag.
Simon, if you ever add a "recent" tag view please use a date added field rather than modified.

I understand and I agree that using the date added is preferable.
A lot of software has an option to not update the last modified date when changing music files... might be worth a look if it helps with Lumin.
Personally I am not bothered with entries in that list due to modified files. Still better than nothing and as this list is not limited to n entries I am fine with that, just a little Scrolling if needed.

It is not advisable to use this option with MinimServer because MinimServer is likely to assume the file is unchanged. This would cause MinimServer to use its previously cached metadata information for the file when doing a rescan.
Hello Simon,
Can you please give us an update on the feature "Last added" (or "Added last week", "Added last month", "Added last year").
Any indication on prio or when it can be expected?
Think many Minimserver are waiting for this feature.
Thx! Lennert
