Hi
I've just upgraded from version 0.52 to 0.61 and am having a couple of problems.
MinimServer is running on a QNAP 559 Pro II NAS, and my streamer is a Cyrus Stream XP. The vast majority of my library is in FLAC format and plays just fine.
I have MinimWatch running on an iMac, which is connected to the same network as the QNAP and can access it no problem. With version 0.52 that worked fine, but since I upgraded to 0.61 I've found that MinimWatch can no longer find the server running on the NAS.
I have a few files that have been purchased from iTunes, but every time I try to play them I get an message telling me that there is File Format Error.
The same files play just fine if I select Twonky (7.0.9) as my server, so the streamer can cope with them no problem. If I convert them to FLAC with dbPowerAmp then MinimServer will let me play them no problem.
Any advice gratefully received - I'm very much a novice with this stuff, and want to use MinimServer primarily to be able to get the Album Artist and Disk No. stuff working easily without trying to write scripts for Twonky.

I've replied by PM to your question about the file format problem.
The problem with MinimWatch might be a firewall configuration issue. Please try disabling the Mac firewall to see if that makes a difference. Also, please check that the General tab of the Security & Privacy system preference is set either to allow applications from the Mac App Store and identified developers, or to allow applications from anywhere.
Which version of Mac OS X are you using? I'm using 10.7.5 with the latest updates, and MinimWatch 0.61 is working for me.
I'm on 10.8.2 with all the latest updates.
The Security & Privacy tab is set at Anywhere.
My Firewall was off already (oops!). Switched it on and was immediately asked if I wanted to allow MinimWatch to look for connections. Switched it off again and no change.

This is rather puzzling. If you launch MinimWatch 0.52 now, does it still work OK?

I don't have 0.52 available anymore. Is there somewhere I can download it to try?

You can download the Mac OS X version from
this link.
Thanks, tried that - no difference. I've also installed MinimWatch 0.61 on one of my laptops and that can't find the MinimServer installation either.
Just uninstalled and reinstalled MinimServer and made no difference, and the Cyrus can see it just fine...
I've now rolled back to an earlier version of the QNAP firmware - from 3.7.3 to 3.6.1 - and everything seems to be working again... Not going to mess with it any further.
Thanks for all your help, very much appreciated!

That's very interesting. I've been thinking about whether to install 3.7.3. (I'm currently on 3.7.1 with qfix_20120622.) Based on this information, I'll try 3.7.3 and see whether I get the same problem. If I get the problem, I'll do some further investigation to try to find out what's causing it.

I've just updated my QNAP to 3.7.3, and it seems to be working fine with MinimWatch running on Windows 7. Perhaps the problem depends on what configuration options are enabled on 3.7.3. (I'm using as few as possible.)
