Hi,
Firstly I want to say thank you for this wonderful piece of software. I have been using Twonky on my QNAP for a few years but it never quite worked right for me, if it wasn't for Briain's excellent trees I don't know what I would have done. But now I find MinimServer, it's installed on my QNAP and it works perfectly, so simple fresh and intuitive many thanks to you Simon.
Just one question, is there any likelihood for CUE sheet support in the future?
Once again thanks.

Thanks very much!
CUE sheet support isn't currently on the wish list. You're the first person to ask for this, and I suspect it may be a minority taste, perhaps because it's not well supported by music servers. To help me prioritise it, please could you explain how and why you're using CUE sheets, and what metadata fields you're including in your CUE sheets. Thanks!
Hi,
Having thought a bit more about this it probably won't work how I would like it to.
I was hoping to rip my albums as one whole flac file and use the cue sheet to navigate the individual tracks. That much should work with a CUE sheet in this kind of format:
REM COMMENT "dBpoweramp"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
TITLE "What's Going On - CUE"
FILE "What's Going On.flac" WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "What's Going On"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
TITLE "What's Happening Brother"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 03:53:30
TRACK 03 AUDIO
TITLE "Flyin' High (In the Friendly Sky)"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 06:36:67
TRACK 04 AUDIO
TITLE "Save the Children"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 10:26:12
TRACK 05 AUDIO
TITLE "God Is Love"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 14:28:65
TRACK 06 AUDIO
TITLE "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 16:10:40
TRACK 07 AUDIO
TITLE "Right On"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 19:24:37
TRACK 08 AUDIO
TITLE "Wholy Holy"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 26:56:05
TRACK 09 AUDIO
TITLE "Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)"
PERFORMER "Marvin Gaye"
INDEX 01 30:03:50
The problem would be, I guess, it wouldn't be able to index the individual tracks. Never mind i'll just stick with ripping my CD's as individual tracks.
Thanks again

Thanks for this response. I'm still not clear what you would gain by using the CUE sheet approach instead of ripping the album as individual tracks. Without a reasonably compelling use case for why this is needed, it's hard for me to justify the work involved in providing support for it.
Hi,
No please don't waste any time on this, i'm sure I would be in a tiny minority.
My player (WDTV Live SMP) doesn't do gapless playback, so the only way to get gapless is to rip the album as a whole and use the CUE sheet to navigate individual tracks (The WD does this now, but their 'media library' tree thing is awful).
I'll stick with the MinimServer server as it's an excellent setup and I'll just have to save up the pennies for a real player!
Thanks again for your help and excellent software.
Kind regards,
Hayden

Thanks for the explanation. I'm sorry that I couldn't provide a solution.
Simon
Hayden,
I dont think ripping CDs into one Flac file is a good idea. Making each track oe file akes things a lot easier.

Hi bbrip,
I know, I already have my thousands of albums archived as individual tracks, but there are some albums where the gaps are just so annoying that I have to rip them as complete albums in one file. As I said this is likely to bother only a tiny handful of people like myself and I concede that the only sensible solution is to change my hardware to something that supports 'gapless' playback.
Kind regards,
Hayden
Dear Simon,
I would like cue sheet support verry much because I have a lot of live recordings in HD audio (96khz-24bit) of my own. They are stored as large individual wav files with a cue sheet. With cue sheet support in your excelent program I would not need to re-edit all my recordings. I would want to donate for such an option.

Hi! Please add CUE sheets support. It's nessesary for gapless playback on my player.
Thanks
