Thank you. Jarfix did its thing (why does it take a third-party volunteer programmer to fix this, instead of Oracle?), Java got going again and I gave it access to go through Windows firewall, and Minimserver started. The log of events at this startup shows no errors.

The problem was caused by the Windows update, not by Oracle. I'm glad you are up and running again.

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class sun.security.ssl.SignatureScheme
and a series of subsidiary entries

I think this is likely to be caused by a timing issue where MinimStreamer is trying to connect to a radio stream using https and the SSL handshake is interrupted for some reason. The SSL handshake would normally take a second or two but could take much longer if the radio stream server is unresponsive for some reason. Stopping or relaunching MinimServer during this time window could produce this error.

I now find that most but not all the https URLs in my playlist work when I rewrite them to http.

This seems like the right approach, to use https only when http doesn't work.
