New member, strange streamer behaviour
Hi Minimstreamer/server friends,
As mentioned in my other post, I experience some strange behaviour in playing radio streams on my Cyrus streamer.

If I understand the documentation and forum infor correctly, a playlist file like this should work:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Radio Paradise Main
http://stream.radioparadise.com/flacm

However, it doesn't Dodgy

What does work is:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,[+Radio Paradise;flac] Radio Paradise Main
http://stream.radioparadise.com/flacm

As I don't have a minimstreamer licence, this only shows one stream on my Cyrus streamer.

Why do I have to add the part between [ ]?

Any ideas?

Kind regards,
MaBo

RE: New member, strange streamer behaviour
The only thing you need to add between [] is [;flac]. This causes MinimServer to advertise the stream as a stream of type flac instead of as a stream of unspecified type. Some renderers (streamers) can handle an unspecified type in the advertisement and read the actual type when the stream is played. Other renderers can only play streams that have the stream type in the advertisement.

RE: New member, strange streamer behaviour
OK, thanks.

That indeed seems to work.

Yet another strange behaviour:
JBradio also has two flac streams:
http://malta1865.startdedicated.net:8888/flac and
http://malta1865.startdedicated.net:8888/metaflac

The first one works with your suggestion. The second plays, but at half speed or so Huh

Any suggestions??

MaBo

MaBo,

Thank you for posting this, I used to listen to JBRadio2 but it went off air in Jan 2021 and I hadn't realized it was back, albeit in Malta rather than Canada

Both links worked for me, the first is flac 16/48 and the second is flac 16/96
I have a very fast internet connection but find the 16/96 service unreliable, the 16/48 is solid though.

Glad this station is back

RE: New member, strange streamer behaviour
To fix the half speed issue, try setting [;flac,96000]. This advertises the stream as having a sample rate of 96000 Hz.
