Which web page did you use to install Java 8u251?

Original java.com I think. But new releases are installed automatically. When I visit Java.com and 'try' to install java it says I have the latest version.

RE: MinimWatch 2.0.12 for Mac gives JavaHomeError
There are two different installers for Java 8. If you install Java 8 from this page, it should work. This is the page that I used to download Java 8 for my testing. To download Java from this page, you need to create an Oracle account if you don't already have one (the page will prompt you for this).

I will look into what I can do to support the other Java 8 installer as it likely that a number of MinimServer users have used this to install Java 8.

I'm seeing "JavaHomeError" for MinimServer 2 on my Mac mini, but not on my MacBook Pro. On both of them JRE 8u251 is installed. On my MacBook Pro "/usr/libexec/java_home" gives:

Quote:/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_60.jdk/Contents/Home

In contrast, my Mac mini gives:

Quote:Unable to find any JVMs matching version "(null)".
No Java runtime present, try --request to install.

To me it looks like MinimServer 2 and MinimWatch 2 currently only work correctly, if the SDK has been installed, i.e. they don't use the installed Java runtime environment (JRE). IMO it's quite unusual that a Java application requires the installation of the SDK in order to work.

I totally agree, as end user it's very strange to have to create an account on Oracle to be able to use this application. SDK is only for developper and JRE for end user. It will be nice to come back to the previous operating mode.

I created my account on Oracle web site to be able to listen my music.

UPDATE
See below the link to avoid to create an account on Oracle : Dropbox - SDK Java
