RE: Eliminate Duplicate Albums/Tracks
You could add a tag BEST=1 to all your FLAC files and all your lossy files that don't have a FLAC version and put Best=1 into indexTags. You can then select Best from the index to get only the best quality version of each track.

Rather that update the bulk of tracks using this method, perhaps I shud add something to the album name folder of only the lossy dupes and use excludePattern to ... exclude them ? |

RE: Eliminate Duplicate Albums/Tracks
Maybe I'm too naive here but can you not select all the mp3s and put them in a separate 'mp3' Genre?
System: ALAC iTunes library on Synology DS412+ (running MinimServer) > Airport Extreme bridge > Optical isolation > dCS Network Bridge (controlled by Galaxy Tab S2 tablet running BubbleUPnP&Mosaic) > PS Audio DirectStream DAC > Primare A60 > Harbeth SHL5plus 40th Anniversary model |

This would work, assuming you never want to see lossy duplicates in your MinimServer library. Another option is to put all the duplicate lossy album folders under a higher-level folder named "lossydupes" and just exclude the "lossydupes" folder. |

Simon, I added the following to my excludePattern: *[LD] I then renamed one of the Lossy Dupe albums by appending the Album folder name with [LD], i.e. "/AC DC/Back in Black [LD]" This seemed to work, as after a rescan only the flac version of that album appears. I then added the same [LD] suffix to a couple of other artists/albums but they all continue to appear in minimserver after a rescan.. It's as though only one album is being matched ? I am able to confirm in Kazoo using the track info option that the underlying path does contain an escaped version of [LD] |

RE: Eliminate Duplicate Albums/Tracks
What platform are you using to run MinimServer? What do you mean about [LD] being escaped? There should be no need for any escaping of the [ or ] characters.
With an excludePattern setting of *[LD], MinimServer should exclude all folder names and filenames that end with [LD]. Edit: By "escaped", do you mean *5b and *5d in the track URL? This is as expected. Edit 2: I have tried this and it is working for me. Are you sure you don't have any spaces in the folder names that would cause a mismatch? |

QNAP TS119
Yes, per your edit I mean that Kazoo shows the [LD] in escaped form as *5b and *5d in the track URL. There are leading spaces, but def no trailing spaces in the folder name. They end in [LD]. |

RE: Eliminate Duplicate Albums/Tracks
Actually, looks like none of the excludes are working.
I've just realised that for some reason AC/DC appears three times in minimservers output. Once as AC/DC and seperatly as both AC and later DC. The excluded versions of the Back in Black album appear under both the seperate AC and DC artist listings but not the correct AC/DC. |

RE: Eliminate Duplicate Albums/Tracks
I have a TS119 as well. Great machine, last of the classic QNAPs!
Are you sure you did a rescan and not just a restart? After a change to excludePattern, you need to do a rescan. I just noticed that you "added" *[LD] to excludePattern. What is your full setting of this property? |
