You will, however, have to read most of it to extract what you require for your particular use.

Well read the thread but I don’t know if I am skilled enough to make it all work.
I do not even know if there is a build of ffmpeg with soxr for my Synology DS115j.

You are correct about Synology and libsoxr. See this post and the next few posts for details of how to fix this. For your DS115j, you need to download the armhf build.

Either of these should be OK. I am using the 4.1 build. The other version has some additional fixes.

I downloaded and extracted the file with 7z
it's name is "ffmpeg-release-armhf-static.tar"
and the location is "/volume1/ffmpeg-static/ffmpeg-release-armhf-static.tar"

but when I copy it to the stream.converter property it is not accepted

Use 7-Zip to extact the contents of the .tar file and just use the file named ffmpeg.
