RE: How to lower the volume from minimserver
See this thread (page 5-7), I think everything is explained well there.

https://forum.minimserver.com/showthread...365&page=5

I can also try to look up my own settings and paste them here, must be in the weekend though.

RE: How to lower the volume from minimserver
another question: it seems that only my 44.1 flac files are very loud
the 96, 192 and DSD ones are ok (espcially 192 and DSD)
how can I program minimstreamer to reduce the gain only on my 44.1 files (and not all the files)?
is it possible to reduce the gain differently regarding each type of files (44.1, 96, 192, dsd...)?
thanks again

RE: How to lower the volume from minimserver
The setting for reducing the gain by 10dB is in this post. Perhaps not surprisingly, to reduce the gain by 20dB you would change '-10dB' to '-20dB'.

If you only want to do this for 44.1 kHz FLAC files, you should set stream.transcode to flac(44):wav; (note the semicolon at the end).

should I put
flac:wav24;
rather than
flac:wav;

RE: How to lower the volume from minimserver
Both of these will reduce the volume. For many renderers (not all), wav24 sounds better. The best way to find out is to try both and compare them.

RE: How to lower the volume from minimserver
another question: if I want to reduce the sound of my mp3 files (plus my flac files), should I whrite this code:
mp3:wav24, flac:wav24;
or
mp3:wav24; flac:wav24;
the difference is the semicolon after mp3:wav24
thanks again

RE: How to lower the volume from minimserver
You might find it helpful to read the documentation in this section. You need the semicolon with FLAC to make MinimStreamer use a stream converter program. For mp3, a stream converter program is always used. This is described in the documentation.

thanks again
i'm lost regarding the use (or not) of the semicolon...
in my properties, I have put "ffmpeg" in the "stream.converter" section
so, do I need to put the semicolon after flac:wac24 or not?
thanks again
