Suggestions, Hopes and of course Praise :)

Hi Simon,
I'm rather new to minimserver, but the concept of this server
and your latest answers to my concerns in the support
section made me sure that it is the right Server for my needs.
(and made me donate )

You regularely state that you want to keep minimserver
simple and that you want avoid too much complexity.

I agree to that wholeheartedly even as I am feature junkie.
But the priority must alway be to keep everything
smooth, elegant and consistent.

Your goal to meet requests of the users rather by intelligent
design than by feature overload has my highest respects.

Nevertheless I have 2 feature suggestions:
(something like "multiple instances" and "quick select")
But I will not throw them at you without proper reasoning,
and I'll do that in seperate posts, soon.

Until now I was using Asset UPnP, but I have got the feeling,
that illustrate is upholding too many construction sites,
and many of them never get out of beta.

I hope you will stick to your minimserver project until you may
rightfully rename it into: greatestaudioserver .

I particularly appreciate your comment about intelligent design. This is one reason why some requests take a while to implement, because it can take me some time to come up with an intelligent design that feels right to me.

I am definitely planning to support multiple instances. For this, I need an intelligent design that won't add any complexity to the single-instance case and will also make it easy to manage properties across multiple instances. Some of these properties will be same for all instances, and other properties won't be the same.

I'll be interested to hear your suggestions for "quick select". I've thought about an intelligent design for this as well, but I haven't got very far. My current thoughts are that a quick selection would be a shortcut that combines a number of existing browsing steps into a single action. The main problem with this is making it work within the constraints of the UPnP protocol.
