Sorry, I should have qualified "all this talk about Windows". I meant the Windows specific situations, eg, the Windows audio output tests, the Kazoo Windows store issue, etc.

Do not copy the minimserver.config file from one machine to another. You will get strange problems if you do this. Instead, copy and paste each configuration field separately using the Properties dialog tabs. This is somewhat tedious and I am hoping to provide a simpler solution soon.

Fair point. I mentioned the Windows Store issue only because it arose in my case, and I have no way of knowing whether there is any read-across to the Mac, though FWIW my guess would be that the problem is Windows-specific. In any event, there is the workaround to use Kinsky rather than Kazoo, and that did seem to be worth a mention.

Yes my post was possibly ambiguous - copy&paste is what I should have said.

Exclamation RE: Help for architecting a MinimServer solution on MacOS
So i did my test on the Macintosh (OSX version 10.11.6) as follows:
- Macintosh USB configured in Audio MIDI utility @ 192kHz / 2 channel / 24bit
- Furutech Stratos connected to USB --> Macintosh USB @ 192kHz is recognised
- Copied some music from NAS on Macintosh: aiff, wav, flac and mp3; in total 14 files
- OpenHome Player installed on Macintosh
- Linn Kazoo installed on Macintosh
- MinimServer installed, configured and started on Macintosh

--> Linn Kazoo on Macintosh recognises MinimServer and its music indexed on Macintosh --> looks ok Sleepy
--> 14 music files in MinimServer on Macintosh are seen and can be browsed similar to NAS experience --> looks ok Sleepy
--> 14 music files queued for playback on Furutech Stratos --> looks ok Sleepy

The result of playing the 14 files from Macintosh Kazoo / OpenHome / MinimServer on the USB Stratos:
--> mp3, aiff, 16bit & 24bit flac and 16bit wav music sounds ok Smile
--> 24bit wav music files (96 & 192kHz) are refused for playback and are not rendered Angry

What now? Angel
What is wrong? Anybody has a clue? Any advice?

Eric

RE: Help for architecting a MinimServer solution on MacOS
Do the 24bit wavs play on the Mac through OpenHome player?
Are the 24bit flacs that play also 96 or 192kHz?
Does the Stratos support 24-bit wav?

The 24 bit wavs (qobuz downloads) are attempted to be played on the Macintosh USB Stratos when OpenHome is running
Hence, I suppose that they are routed through OpenHome player

Two 192kHz flac files (qobuz downloads)
They play nicely

RE: Help for architecting a MinimServer solution on MacOS
Did you try playing the 24bit wavs on the Mac itself (ie. not the stratos USB DAC)? If they play, it points to the DAC. If not, it points to the files.

All 14 music files incl the 24bit wavs play without problem from:
- VLC directly on the Mac itself
- VLC directly on Dell Latitude
- Synology NAS / MinimServer on Cambridge Audio 851N renderer and DAC
- VLC / Macintosh on the USB Stratos DAC

imo neither pointing to the files nor to the DAC

RE: Help for architecting a MinimServer solution on MacOS
Does it work if you use VLC on the Mac to stream the files via UPnP/DLNA from your MinimServer library to play on the Stratos? If so, this would indicate an issue with the OpenHome player.
