Minimserver/Watch 0.8.5 Asustor ARM Minimstreamer Fail
Hi Simon,

installed Minimserver/Watch 0.8.5 on an ARM Asustor NAS tonight. Basic function looks OK, but invoking Minimstreamer (BBC Radio - which worked before update) causes a crash.

Extract from log below:

I use the function infrequently, (so no real urgency from me) but thought I would test and feedback.

Cheers

Thanks for letting me know about this. I need to do some investigation to see what is the best way to solve this problem. It should only affect the MPEG-DASH streams (the HLS streams should be OK). I will post back here when I have more information.

The origin is the HLS stream, though I have transcoded (I think) to get it to work across several different devices.

If it helps, the entry in the "BBC Radio" playlist definition which I tested against is:

[*R2;AAC] BBC Radio 2
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/man...o_two.m3u8
#EXTINF:-1

Thanks for the pointer re HLS. It should be fairly simple to make HLS work as the code that is causing the problem is only used for DASH but is apparently being loaded for both DASH and HLS. Perhaps also not too difficult to get DASH working but I won't be able to do more investigation until tomorrow afternoon.

No problem, Simon.

You're allowed a few hours off to go and buy Christmas presents.... Smile

The fix is available now in MinimStreamer 0.7.5. This should work for both DASH and HLS streams. To install this, you need to do a manual install of the minimstreamer-0.7.5 package from the Packages tab in MinimWatch. When you have confirmed this is working for you, I will enable it for automatic updating.

Simon,

As you were so prompt, I've run a very quick test before I go out, and, on the limited use I've made, all now seems OK.

Thanks.
