Play count and itunes
I am in the process of moving from a Logitech media server and various Logitech devices to Naim streamer and I am considering using MinimServer as the LMS replacement. I have ripped all of my music to Apple Lossless and use iTunes to ensure I have my whole library on my phone as well.

So I wondered if I can still store music within itunes and use MinimServer to serve the Naim streamer? a supplementary question: Is there any way I can still keep the play count updated on the iTunes library?

Many thanks, Nigel

RE: Play count and itunes
I don’t know of a way to update the play count, but you can certainly use your alac files in your iTunes library. When you set up Minimserver, just use the iTunes music folder as your content directory for Minimserver.

RE: Play count and itunes
There might be an issue with album art. Some users who have done this have found that their album art doesn't appear because it isn't present in the audio files but is contained in a separate iTunes file. If you see this, the solution is to use a Doug Script (see this post).
