Minimserver stopped on PC and Synology Nas
I had a popup that there was a new update when launching MinimWatch.
I was going to do a rescan of music on my NAS.

I updated as I've done a number of times before.
Now everything is not working:

I get an error on my Windows 8.1 laptop when launching Minimwatch, and now Minimserver on my Nas is not working either.

What is the best way to sort this out? Uninstall Minimserver on my Nas and uninstall Minimwatch on my laptop and start again?

My Nas is running Minimserver 0.8.4.2
Not sure if this update has caused the issue?

Still not sure why Minimserver has stopped and can't be started on my NAS?

Thanks

RE: Minimserver stopped on PC and Synology Nas
Just read a log file for Minimserver on my Synology Nas and it says:

OpenJDK is not supported for this Nas. Download and install Oracle Java.

I logged into my Nas via Firefox browser and it says I have the latest version of Java installed: 7.0.131-0012

It's working again.

I uninstalled then reinstalled MinimServer on the DS215j. That's fixed it.
Don't know what went wrong but at least it's working now.

RE: Minimserver stopped on PC and Synology Nas
It sounds like you are using the Java7 package from the Synology Package Center. It would be a good idea to install the Java8 package and uninstall the Java7 package as Java 8 is a much newer version of Java.

There was an issue with the recent update and the Java7 package (see this thread). This problem is fixed now in MinimServer update 106.

Sorry only just saw this.
I have another error so it looks like I need to update to java 8.
Any idea why I have had no update for Java to version 8?
I've asked on the Synology forum but don't seem to be having any replies.
Any idea how to update manually to Java 8?
I think there is a 'arm' processor in my nas and needs a certain type of Java from oracle?

RE: Minimserver stopped on PC and Synology Nas
Synology have decided to create a new package for Java 8 instead of making this an update to Java 7. You would need to ask Synology why they chose to do this.

You can find instructions for installing Java and MinimServer on Synology ARM models on this page.
