Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup
I upgraded to Ubuntu V17.10. Java is OpenJDK 9. Updated Minimwatch to V0.8.4.7 use Java 9.
Minimwatch will not start giving error 'unable to create tray icon'.

The message about "murrine-scrollbar" has a workaround as described in comment #4 of this bug report. I'm not sure whether this will also fix the tray icon issue.

I am working on a fix for this. It should be available soon.

Are we closer to the fix?
I am unable to stream my music to my stereo via BubbleUPnP since the loss of Minimserver. :-(

My apologies. I thought I had already posted back, but this was to a different thread (see this post). You can get MinimServer running by installing the Topicons Plus shell extension. You also need to be on Java 9 and the latest MinimServer update (update 108).

RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup
I followed this advice and the icon did appear when running STARTI, however, it is unusable. I have tried selecting the icon, closing the service, uninstalling and reinstalling both the program and the extension but I have a red icon and can do nothing with it.

What should I be looking for to resolve?

If you left-click the red icon, is a message displayed?

Please post the contents of your minimserver.log file.

Neither right click or left click works on the icon. All other icons left and right of it, work okay.
