DSD dsf album artwork
I recently got a Lumin U1. I had been using JRiver with a PC music server. I noticed that mainly most of the dsf files did not display the cover art. I use a Synology DS716+. I can and have started (manually) editing the ID Tags and renaming the art 'folder.jpg' vs. what I had in many cases which was the album name as a jpg file. Someone suggested Minimserver so I downloaded and installed it and re-scanned the library but it didn't recognize any additional artwork. Any suggestions would be appreciated if there is an easier way to do it. Thanks.

RE: DSD dsf album artwork
Do these .dsf files contain embedded artwork? MinimServer uses embedded artwork (if present) in preference to a folder.jpg file. If there is embedded artwork, perhaps it can't be displayed for some reason.

RE: DSD dsf album artwork
Yes - they all have embedded artwork. What I've been doing is changing file name from the album name (.jpg) to folder.jpg and then re-tagging each song and the artwork on the Lumin App is displayed. First I just changed the name and then I discovered I have to re-tag each song.

RE: DSD dsf album artwork
When you retag the song, are you changing any tag values or just rewriting the tags? If it is the latter, this might have the effect of removing an incorrect embedded album art image. If the embedded image is removed, the folder.jpg file is used.

You could probably use a file converter program such as dBpoweramp or XLD to fix the embedded mage problem. This would be easier than retagging.

MinimServer recognises albumname.jpg as well as folder.jpg. In this case, albumname must match the tagged album name exactly (with the exception of some characters that aren't allowed in filenames). See this section for details.

Perhaps I did something wrong with the install? I use dBpoweramp to edit the ID tags. For example, if the artwork file name is blondeonblonde.jpg, the individual songs are tagged with the artwork of blondeonblonde.jpg in the album folder. After installing MinimServer (on my Synology) it did not pick up any of these. If I rename the file blondeonblonde.jpg to folder.jpg and then individually via dBpoweramp edit the ID tags of the songs for the file folder.jpg the artwork shows. Otherwise it does not. Do I need to point my Lumin to MinimServer as the library now vs. the music folder on my NAS?

RE: DSD dsf album artwork
I am not clear what you mean by "edit the ID tags of the songs". Are you changing the values of these tags or just rewriting the files?

Also, if you are not pointing the LUMIN app to MinimServer as the music library, you are not actually using MinimServer even though it is running on your NAS.

RE: DSD dsf album artwork
I was renaming the artwork file (to folder.jpg) and then re-tagging each song with the file folder.jpg to get the artwork to show up. Thanks - that's exactly what I was asking - MinimServer is installed - I'll re-define the music library on the Lumin App - I thought, but was not sure that might be an issue.

RE: DSD dsf album artwork
OK, it makes sense now. If the LUMIN app is not using MinimServer but just reading files directly from a NAS shared folder, I don't think the LUMIN app would use album art from a folder.jpg file.

RE: DSD dsf album artwork
Thanks so much for a great product and support - it has been churning away for about an hour or so and I believe from when I first looked it seems to be picking up things now - not sure how long the process takes (I have just under 50,000 music files).
