converter not installed

hi Simon all of a sudden I get the msg "converter not installed" although I didn't change anything to my system (W2012 Server). Minimwatch is red and I can't play music.

There is a change in MinimStreamer 0.6.2 to check that the converter program is a valid executable (i.e., it is a program that can be run, not just a file that is present).

What do you see as the value of the stream.converter property?

What happens if you start a command prompt window and enter the command

C:\Program Files\MinimServer\ffmpeg.exe

If you see an error message, this is the cause of the problem.

Also, you should not install ffmpeg in the MinimServer installation directory. See ths section for the recommended location.

thanks Simon, solved. I had installed the 64 bit version of ffmpeg but it needed to be the 32 one.

Strangely I have started to get this error when I boot the system and run startd from rc.local. I don't get the error if I set logging to debug! There is no problem if I use minimwatch to restart.
stream.converter is set to /usr/minim/ffmpeg64/ffmpeg and this runs OK from a command prompt.
My next move was to shift ffmpeg to the opt/bin directory and also add the ffmeg64 directory to PATH. This didn't help so I'll continue to dig around.
