Winrar and minimserve incompatibility
I have had problems opening Minimwatch since I installed it last.Every time I double click the Minimwatch icon, Winrar opens and shows the Minimwatch files, but will not run the program. I have found that the only solution is to uninstall Winrar, and use another Zip opener .

RE: Winrar and minimserve incompatibility
As there are IMO more capable archive handlers for Windows than WinRAR, I'm not sure that your fix was not actually the best solution. But, for peace of mind, you might like to know that you almost certainly could have fixed the problem by changing file associations in the Windows Control Panel. Uninstalling WinRAR should have removed the offending associations, so there's a good chance that all is now well.

RE: Winrar and minimserve incompatibility
Another option would be to install WinRAR and configure it (under Options > Settings > Integration) not to be associated with JAR files.
