Please post your radio stream .m3u file and indicate which streams work and which streams don't.

RE: Yamaha RX-V677 AVR crackling action time out UPnP DLNA issues
Hi Simon that is fast!
Looks like my receiver can't cope with streams like :
http://icecast.omroep.nl/radio1-bb-mp3
http://icecast.omroep.nl/radio1-bb-aac
http://icecast.omroep.nl/radio1-sb-mp3
(unable to play is displayed)

What is working now is :
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,FFH - Eurodance
http://streams.ffh.de/ffhchannels/mp3/hqeurodance.m3u
#EXTINF:-1,Radio 538
http://playerservices.streamtheworld.com...538AAC.aac
#EXTINF:-1,Studio Brussel
http://icecast.vrtcdn.be/stubru-high.mp3

Thanks in advance!
Paul

You are not routing any of these streams through MinimStreamer. Please see this section for details of how to do this. If you don't already have MinimStreamer installed, you need to install it. See this section for a description of how to do this.

As you have discovered, some streams can be played by MinimServer without MinimStreamer but some streams need MinimStreamer as well.

RE: Yamaha RX-V677 AVR crackling action time out UPnP DLNA issues
Hello All,
Thanks again for the help. MiniStreamer was already installed earlier. ffmpeg was not. After installing ffmpeg I added the example "alac:wav24, aac:mp3" in stream.transcode.
As I am not so familiar with the way streams ar treated I copied the "Supported devices and file formats¨ of my receiver :

The unit supports playback of WAV (PCM format only), MP3, WMA, MPEG-4 AAC,
FLAC and ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) files.
• The unit is compatible with sampling rates of up to 192 kHz for WAV and FLAC files,
96 kHz for ALAC files, and 48 kHz for other files.
• The unit supports gapless playback of WAV, FLAC and ALAC files.
• To play back FLAC files, you need to install server software that supports sharing of
FLAC files via DLNA on your PC or use a NAS that supports FLAC files.
• Digital Rights Management (DRM) contents cannot be played back.

Can you please explain if and how streams like :
http://icecast.omroep.nl/radio1-bb-aac
are treated or converted so that my receiver can cope with it?
what I experience now is that :
http://icecast.omroep.nl/radio1-bb-aac
is greyed out still on the on screen display while :
http://playerservices.streamtheworld.com...538AAC.aac
is not......?
Very happy to learn how to use MinimServer!
Thanks Paul

Both these streams are playing for me without any transcoding, so it seems there is something about your receiver that is preventing the first stream from playing.

You can try transcoding the first radio stream to WAV by making two changes:

1) Add a stream ID to the playlist entry as described in this section, specifying a stream type of aac. For example, the #EXTINF line could be:

#EXTINF:-1,[R1BB;aac]Radio 1 BB AAC

2) Put aac:wav in the stream.transcode option

After you have made these changes, restart MinimServer.

Hello simoncn,
I tried your suggestions.
No results...
Can it be that it is due to the fact that the manual of the receiver describes only the support of files. So lets say .mps .acc .whatever
Maybe these streams without a extension are not recognised by the receiver?

I will search for stations with a stream that has a file extension because these work!
And that is very nice since vtuner is not working anymore.
Thanks for now!

Paul

RE: Yamaha RX-V677 AVR crackling action time out UPnP DLNA issues
If you play the WAV-transcoded stream to the receiver, the receiver sees a stream URL of the form

http://x.x.x.x:9790/minimstreamer/*/R1BB/$!transcode.wav

where x.x.x.x is the IP address of the device running MinimServer. So the receiver is seeing a stream with a .wav extension.

You could also try removing aac:wav from the stream.transcode property and restarting MinimServer. This will change the URL for the stream to

http://x.x.x.x:9790/minimstreamer/*/R1BB/$!stream.aac

which has a .aac extension.

For this to work, it is very important that your .m3u file has an #EXTINF line for this stream of

#EXTINF:-1,[R1BB;aac]Radio 1 BB AAC

The [R1BB;aac] is essential and must be entered exactly as shown. Also, you need to do a MinimServer rescan after making any changes to the .m3u file.

Hello simoncn,
Thanks for the explanation.
The streams whitout the extensions are now playing as well.
I am now completing my playlist with your suggestions.
Thanks for helping me.
I will post my settings and playlist when I am ok with it.
Cheers Paul
