I have replaced the 0.8.3 Synology downloads with 0.8.3a versions. These should fix the problem with the Java installation not being found. Please try installing 0.8.3a and let me know whether it solves the problem.

Many Thanks for the quick fix, we are making progress :-).
I am able now to install MinimServer, but I can´t start it.
Error msg "Faied to run the package service. The Java Installation seems to be corrupted. Please reinstall the Java Synology service".

I have already reinstalled Java and forced the Synology to reboot.

Would like to know if Barbie-qu was more sucesfull ?

I am going to bed now ;-)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I've just tried 0.8.3a-armv5 and unfortunately I get the same original error (java is not installed or not properly configured).
Also off to bed :-)

I have replaced the 0.8.3a download with an updated version that should fix the problem with starting MinimServer. Please try this and let me know whether it is working.

It sounds like the problem on your machine is different from the problem that PepiBlu is having. Please run the following commands and post the output here:

ls -l /volume1/@appstore
ls -l /usr/local
which java
echo $JAVA_HOME

As MinimServer is new to me I have now to continue in order to "connect" my Linn Majik.

Hi Simon,
I seem to be unable to log in via SSH. Not sure why as it's enabled in DSM, and it authenticates ok. I guess i'll have to resolve this before I can run the commands you posted.
