RE: Melco Audiophile NAS
MinimStreamer is not a valid package name. The correct name is minimstreamer-0.7.10.

Ok, issue solved !!
I uninstalled the old Windows 10 MinimWatch, restarted the computer, downloaded the latest MinimWatch windows version, installed it, an update was required, MinimServer update was also required.
Everything works fine now, MinimStreamer is back.
What a relief, thank you.

RE: Melco Audiophile NAS
Thanks for letting me know. I see the cause of the problem now. The older MinimWatch was looking in an old location for the MinimStreamer package.

RE: Melco Audiophile NAS
Firmware v3.9 release notes indicate a facility to direct wire an iPad when in direct mode to avoid the need for a router. This is not mentioned in the software user guide so has anyone here got this to work and if so how?

Melco N1ZH/2 (updated to EX) MinimServer2, Chord M Scaler, DAVE, SPM1200MKII, Wilson Benesch Vectors

RE: Melco Audiophile NAS
This update brought two problems: I had to switch to fixed IP and it took me some efforts to
have minimserver work again.

RE: Melco Audiophile NAS
With the latest Firmware, 3.9, you may experience problems accessing the Melco disk(s) from your computer via, e.g. Finder (Mac) and Windows Explorer.
These problems were not there, in my experience, in 3.8.
It appears that it is no longer possible to access the data on the Melco simply as a "Guest".
You have to sign in and get proper access.
And you will therefore need a username and password.
If you read through the latest release notes on the Melco site, it speaks about "Windows10 ver.1809 or later version cannot access to SMB sharing folder without ID/Password. So, for those Windows10 user can access to Melco Music Library with ID:nobody, Password:nobody."

NOTE: the same difficulties exist with Mac, and can be overcome using the "nobody" ID and Password.

I have made Melco aware of this, and I suspect this will not be the last word on the issue.

Happy Christmas to all Simon's readers.........
