This means there is something wrong with your Java installation. Did you use Synology Java Manager to install Java, or did you use the Java package from patters?

When I switch on the NAS first time, I've used the existing Synology Java Manager. When I decided to load MinimServer I've followed the patters procedure with Java SE for Embedded 6 (version 1.6.0_38-0021), file downloaded : ejre-1_6_0_38-fcs-b05-linux-i586-headless-13_nov_2012.tar.gz

Please uninstall the patters package and then use Java Manager to update to the latest version of Java 6 (6u45). There might be some conflict between the patters package and Java Manager. After doing this, reboot the NAS.

You can check your Java installation by logging into the NAS using SSH and running the command:

java -version

If Java is installed correctly, you should get the following output:

java version "1.6.0_45"
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_45-b06)
Java HotSpot™ Client VM (build 20.45-b01, mixed mode, sharing)

This test build is now available as the official 0.72.3 release. If you've already installed the test build, you don't need to update to 0.72.3.
