Synology: minimserver scans #snapshot btrfs subdirectory

Synology: minimserver scans #snapshot btrfs subdirectory
Hello Simon,

is there a way to exclude subdirs from being scanned? Minimserver scans the btrfs #snapshot subdirectories in the music folder. this doubles the music files up to 256 times (the max number of snapshot folders). These subdirs are created via the app "Snapshot Replication", in my case one each day.

Thank you
Gert

I have found the excludePattern in the manual and will try it this evening.

Greetings
Gert

Thanks for letting me know about this. I will add an automatic exclusion for #snapshot in the next MinimServer update.

RE: Synology: minimserver scans #snapshot btrfs subdirectory
One suggestion also if I may : when deleting a file on a synology, if the bin option is activated, the files goes to a #recycle directory at the root of the music files with the same path as the original one.

I think this directory could also be automatically excluded ?

Just a little thought !

Thx Simon

#recycle is already excluded. Have you had problems with this?

OP: if you are having problems with #recycle not being excluded, I think this has been fixed in a recent update to Minimserver. I used to have to add a manual exclude pattern "*recycle" in my Minimwatch settings as until recently it was not correctly excluded from the scan by default, but seems that's working correctly now.

Thanks, Simon. I have decided to purchase a new Synology NAS that has BTRFS file system, so this update will be helpful.

RE: Synology: minimserver scans #snapshot btrfs subdirectory
It works fine to exclude the #snapshot directories using the excludePattern property in minimserver/minimwatch. So you do not need to wait for the new minimserver version.
