Low Gain of Minimserver in Synology NAS
Hello Smile

I am using synology nas 218+ as a source and my network player is Linn klimax DS/1.
I had used Synology's Media Server and recently changed my UPnP server program to Minimserver.

Control app is using Linn Kazoo in iOS environment, and I am satisfied with fast search and high resolution Album Art.

I think there is not much difference in sound quality between Media server and Minimserver, but there is a clear difference in gain. Huh

I do not understand why the gain differs depending on the UPnP server program,
but when I listen to music via minimserver in Linn Kazoo, the gain is lower than the media server.

The volume of the amplifier, which had only been up to 50% before, can now be increased up to 70% to achieve the same gain. Huh

There is no problem listening to music, but I'm a little concerned that the gain is lower than before.

If you have experience like me, I wonder if the gain difference is normal.
Also, if you can increase the gain slightly in the minimserver, please advise how to do it.

Thanks :-)

RE: Low Gain of Minimserver in Synology NAS
MinimServer doesn't change the gain unless you have installed MinimStreamer and configured the stream.options property to do this. What is the value of this property in your setup?

The problem seems to be stream.options as you say ... Dodgy

I can not confirm this because I am working now,
but I only installed minimstream and did not touch anything in stream.options..
I will check after work and post again.

Thank you for answer. Tongue

Problem Solved!
stream.options was blank, but I removed the stream plugin altogether.
After that, the gain returned normally.

Maybe it was my mistake ?? :-P

This shouldn't be happening. What kind of files were you playing when you had the problem? Did you have anything in the stream.transcode property?
