Hi,

i got a problem.

Here in Germany many internetradios uses M3U or mp3 streams of their online
radio. I want to use the Radio over my Android (VLC, Xiialive, etc.) with a lower bitrate.

For xxample a radio stream uses a mp3 (128kbs) stream, how could i transcode the stream to 48kpbs or 96kbs.

Is it possible to do this?

Or how could i set the streaming options at the minimstreamer to use another format to stream.

Thank you!
Thanks for this suggestion. The current version of MinimStreamer can't change the bit rate for a radio stream if the stream type (mp3) stays the same. There isn't any good reason for this limitation and it should be possible for me to add support for transcoding mp3 streams to a lower bitrate in the next version of MinimStreamer.
Hi Simon,

that would be really really great if you could do this in the next version. How much should i donate? ;-))

Do you got a period, when the next version is coming?

I hardly expect!

That would be my replacement for yourmuze, that is already dead.

Thank you!!
This will depend on how the testing goes. I hope it will be soon.
Really great simon!

Many thanks from Germany!

PS: I donate a little bit for a coffee or Beer while you are testing. Smile
Thanks, the coffee was great!

This support is now available in MinimStreamer 0.7.6. To transcode MP3 radio streams from 128 kbps to 48 kbps, you can specify mp3:mp3;48k.

For info, 48 kbps mp3 sounds truly horrible. For low bitrate, he aac, he aac v2 or Opus are preferred. Even 64 kbps Vorbis is not too bad.
